HAHA Ook that's very lame..

i realized i actually have a lot of photos in my phone,  that i've always wanted to update on my blog. so.. all at one shot! :)

But very annoying cos i edited all the photos (compile, frames and etc). and then blogger has this auto "framing" thing, which makes everything look so weird now.. :I Plus, I specially changed the template just so the photos could fit. And the background is tad too distracting right? (mental reminder to change background/template..)


But anyways.... here goes!

so then this one had a concussion cos it tried to fly through the glass door. We didn't know what to do, so we brought him inside the house and tried to nurse him to health. But then the moment he regained conscious, he kept banging onto those glass doors like nobody's business, REPEATEDLY!
quite bimbotic huh? Sad..

so we all *tried* to celebrate it by wearing green (ugh!)
and we went to a German Club. LOL.

i think i'm easily stressed

doing up my powerpoint slides. have been on it for the past 5 hours and it's not done. Sigh. I remember I used to be able to finish doing powerpoint slides in one hour. I guess this superpower went away with age as well:(

Kinda stressed up with the assignments, presentations, reports piled up on my table, and in my brain, mids-exams coming soon and the notes were forgotten, and I haven't started searching for my honours project! sigh sigh sigh.

My room stinks, ugh! and i'm tired...  :( and maybe a little hungry. but more tired. quite hungry. And sleepy, and tired. but need to finish my slides. :/  journals have taken over fb or blogs lately, they're more interesting anyways, lately. sigh.

12 (f*ing) degrees.

I bought a heater just this afternoon. Once again, a first time in my life I'd ever need a heater. I don't think they even sell heater in sg. 

Can't imagine the temp for winter coming next month. I have toasty toes now, because the heater is just infront of my feet, and so my fingers are pretty numbed.

A few episodes back of 康熙来了was saying that the older you get, the more you'll be afraid of the cold. Gosh, I can't help but admit I am old. Or rather, not young anymore.

I remember I don't even wear jackets or sweaters when I entered poly. I wore sleeveless, comfy, "airy" clothes to attend lectures in freezing LT. When I wore jacket, it was just an accessory back then.

And then by the end of year 3, I was practically wearing/bringing my thick jacket because, I AM REALLY COLD.

When I started working, their aircon was permanently down (yes, the aircon was down for 1.5YRS). But despite it being down, I still wore my long sleeves/pullovers/sweaters, on hot sunny Singapore afternoon into a hot toasty lab, with my thick lab coat some more!

Thinking back now, I want to slap myself so much for wearing such thick clothes to work. what the hell was I thinking.

what i want to say is, it's even colder here, and i'm old :( i miss they warm days which i can easily get in sg. I think i'm hard to please; I hate the sun, I also hate the cold.

I had this wave-like feeling recently. One which I have not felt for a long time. Assignments, papers, assignments, papers, and before I finished my assignment, another one comes up, and then exams again.

I don't seem to hate it anymore, I don't lament and whine about them as I would have done before. Nor do I love it of course. It just seem like a necessary chore, no hate, no feelings, just necessary, part of life, 任命 kind of feeling. :/

I dread it still.  When I can't finish or do my assignments or presentation. But.. I think it's up to me to make them possible, and I have only myself to blame if i can't finish or do my stuffs well. Which sucks because I feel so disappointed with myself whenever I take 'too long' to just do a simple assignment, or I can't finish writing my exam paper, or I didn't study well enough for my papers..

I just feel like I could have done more, but then I know i will still choose to sleep over read more notes. the notes don't really bore me, but I just prefer my bed, or games and shows.


I just finished my mids, which i am quite sure i did badly.
And next month's my end semester exams already.

You know, I feel like I don't belong to australia, and i don't belong in sg as well. I don't know if i'd be better of in sg or in aussie. i'm not even thinking which is better, instead, which one i'd be less worse at.

why do i always have mixed feelings.

You know how Australians love to say"Cool" and "Awesome".

It's amazing how they say it without any emotions, just flatly "cool", "awesome"

and 99% of the time, it's not even true (that it's cool/awesome)

they just love saying it


It's like our lah, leh, and lor.

Anyway, if there's anything cool about Australia, it has got to be this!

Autumn here is... like Singapore, without the rain.
is when the sky is already dark at 6pm.

quite scary actually, it's pitch dark outside now, like 9pm in SG.

i don't celebrate Good Friday or Easter Day, but I celebrate the holidays!

How was April Fools day??? :)

I think my day was actually quite peaceful today :) I didn't realise it was april fools day until about 3pm, and I was just amazed that I wasn't tricked at all, while at least not yet at that time. Don't people celebrate April Fool's day here??? the one prank i got tricked was actually from a Singaporean too, lol. Singaporeans more fun la, but also more mean, haha. or maybe the Australians were just too busy preparing for Easter day.. It's an experience, hearing people say "happy easter!" for the first time in my life, seriously.

Other then that, it was quite a good day. I haven't really mentioned what I do over here, so.. just some updates for those who don't know. A typical day, of a typical student in uq starts like this:

Typical lesson will start at 8am, and i will wake up at 6.30am. Wash up, have my breakfast, typically bread or cereal with a cup of coffee or milk. Wait for bus at 7.30am, which usually arrives at 7.45am, and I'll reach school at 8am.

Typical lunch will be either coffee or a simple toast, or food that i packed from home. Typical school usually ends at average of 3pm, 11am being the earliest and 5pm being the latest.  I'll reach home, take a bath (or not, haha!) and do some homework (or not), check some email (or not), and just arrange my table.

Typical dinner starts at 6.30pm - 7pm, where we'll start preparing at 6pm and all gather at either my place or my friend's place below my house, and we'll all share our food. Pot luck everyday :) We'll chat and have fruits/desserts, have our 'family meeting', discussing 'family issues' of our new apartment, what we'll be doing for term break, and making of our 'family t-shirt', and such.

Typical dinner will end at around 9pm where we will part and walk back to our individual apartments and finish up on our assignments or studies for the day.

And lastly, typical day ends at around 11 to 12mn and I'll go to sleep.


So typical ey?
haha.

of course, on non-typical days, i'll go walk and shop around the city, we'll go up mountains and enjoy the scenery, we'll travel to goldcoast and stuffs. It's actually.. quite nice. :)

ahhh.. happiness.

I feel so lucky all of a sudden when I found out about this two weeks ago, literally JUMPING FOR JOY and screaming with the two girls after we signed up at the cafeteria.

(can you believe that the first two girls i met in brisbane likes mayday too? SO SO fated.. Just like how fated we are to mayday! :) )

the other day i was just lamenting that i'm going to miss their concert in SG, and then a few weeks later, WHEEE~~! :)) And it's not just in brisbane, it's freaking just a few stops away from my place can! I think i can just sit outside and listen lor if i want to.. :X

Ahhh.
it keeps me so excited and alive, everytime I feel so stressed out.
Knowing that Mayday will be in town soon.
hehe.
